Laser and light-based therapy

The use of energy-based devices such as lasers and light therapies has revolutionised the treatment of common skin concerns.

Treatments are performed in a safe, private and comfortable environment with the use of our state-of-the-art Sciton BBL and Nd:YAG laser devices.

Laser treatments provide the benefit of a physical therapy, offering an alternative treatment to medication for many skin conditions. Laser treatments offer excellent safety profile delivered by our highly trained laser nurse practitioners. At Frontier, your dermatologists and our laser nurses can recommend and prescribe the appropriate laser and light-based treatments for your skin condition.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Facial rhytides, better known as wrinkles, are due to a combination of ageing, sun exposure, loss of collagen and muscle movement.

Wrinkles between the eyebrows, around the eyes and across the forehead can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections for a fresher, softer, more youthful appearance.

Anti- wrinkle injections require no downtime, and usually last 3-4 months.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment involving the movement of a pen-like device with an attached sterile, disposable cartridge tip containing small needles over the skin’s surface.

At Frontier Dermatology we use the FDA-cleared SkinPen device for microneedling treatments. It is clinically proven to safely and effectively treat the appearance of the skin for patients over the age of 22. With as few as three non-invasive treatments, spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance for up to six months after your last treatment.

Microneedling can reduce the appearance of:
·     Acne Scars
·     Surgical Scars
·     Melasma
·     Fine Lines
·     Wrinkles
·     Enlarged pores

How does it work?
The microneedles puncture the skin and create tiny micro injuries that are not visible to the naked eye. The tiny punctures stimulate tissue regeneration through a process called collagen induction therapy. The stimulation of the skin’s natural wound healing process results in inflammation and proliferation, which prompts tissue remodelling. This improves the appearance of the skin without causing scar tissue formation.  Most patients can return to normal activities within 24 hours of a treatment.
