Please call to coordinate bookings as we do not arrange appointments via email.

What to Bring

  • Current referral (preferably sent prior to your appointment)
  • GP referrals are valid for 12 months
  • Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months
  • Any relevant medical history and pathology results
  • List of your current medications
  • Photos of your skin or hair care products
  • Medicare card
  • DVA, concession or pension card (if applicable)

Dressing for Your Visit

Wear loose, comfortable clothing so your dermatologist can easily examine the area of concern.

If you wear makeup, you may be asked to remove it during your appointment.
Face masks are optional for patients and staff. You are welcome to bring and wear a mask.

Bringing Someone Along

Each patient may have one additional person, such as a carer or guardian, attend the appointment with them.

Parking and Location

Onsite parking is available at the rear of the building. This includes accessible parking and building access.

A drop-off bay is available at the front of the building. Street parking is available on nearby side streets, and the Hilltop Plaza car park is approximately 250 metres away.

Referrals

Referral and Medicare Rebates

A valid referral from your doctor is required to see a dermatologist and to claim a Medicare rebate. Your referral also provides important information that helps your specialist deliver personalised care.

Availability

Appointment Wait Times

Extensive wait times necessitated Dr Thornton, Dr Lamrock and Dr Barrett to close their books. However, acne referrals are still accepted by Dr Lamrock and Dr Thornton and Dr Barrett still accepts referrals for Mohs surgery.

Specialist availability is scheduled for future review and will be updated as availability changes.

When a cancellation appointment becomes available, it is first offered to patients with an urgent need.
Costs

Fees and Payment

You will be given a fee for your initial consultation at the time of booking. If you have a valid referral, you will be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.
Procedures incur an additional charge. You are welcome to request a quote for any procedures your dermatologist recommends.
A reduced fee is available for pension and healthcare card holders.
We do not offer bulk billing.

Rescheduling

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact reception to reschedule as early as possible. This allows us to offer your appointment to another patient from our waitlists.
Cancellations made within 24–48 hours of your appointment will incur a fee equal to 50% of the consultation cost. Full consultation fees apply for non-attendance or cancellations made within 24 hours.
For cosmetic bookings, 48 hours notice is required to avoid a $110 late cancellation fee.
Teleconsultation

Remote Appointments

In certain circumstances, your dermatologist may offer a teleconsultation at their discretion. This is a fee-for-service appointment.
Generally, only follow-up appointments are eligible. Please discuss this with our reception team if you would like to request a teleconsultation.
Your Privacy

Photographs and Consent

Photographs may be taken to document or monitor your skin condition. If you consent, these form part of your confidential medical record. They are not shared unless you provide written consent for teaching purposes.

If You Need to Reschedule

Please call us to discuss rescheduling your appointment if you have flu-like symptoms or a recent positive Covid test result. We appreciate your consideration for other patients and our team.
